The April update for that Pixies book!

HEY!

I tried to hold of posting an update until I had a firm ship date, but I do not have that yet. We are in peak yearbook season, so all the independent printers are busy printing up the books for all the high schools and junior high schools.  Trust me when I say that as soon as I have a definite date, I will post it!

Have you guys heard about the Rock Book Show? Kim Austin of the great Rock Book Show will be doing a feature on PIXIES: A Visual History, in the coming weeks.  If you are not familiar with the Rock Book Show, it is pretty much just like it sounds: a site for all things having to do with rock and roll books. There are some great interviews and a ton of info about upcoming rock books. Check out the website at http://rockbookshow.com/ or the Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/rockbookshow. The Rock Book Show was also at the Brooklyn in-store event for The Good Inn, by Black Francis and Josh Frank, with illustrations by Steven Appleby (of Trompe le Monde fame). Look for that interview in the coming weeks as well.

I have gotten a few questions about the type of material that will be featured in A Visual History. It is a good mix of material, ranging from fan and family submitted photos, media such as all access passes and ticket stubs and flyers, a ton of set lists running from the very beginning up to the final days of the Pixies tour with U2. We will also be showcasing some truly amazing photographs from shoots with legendary photographers such as Simon Larbalestier, Phil Nichols, Tom Sheehan, and others. The best part is that the overwhelming majority of these images have never been seen before, or at least not since the 80’s.

That’s all for now! Expect more updates moving forward, every one or two weeks from now until the release of the book!
